Sunday Mornings at WPC
At Westminster we have two worship services. The worship "style" of each service is different, but the goal is the same: to honor our risen Lord Jesus Christ, and to Worship God in spirit and in truth.
A typical Sunday Morning looks like this:
9:00am - Contemporary Worship Service
10:15am - Sunday School
11:00am - Traditional Worship Service
The order of worship for these two services is basically the same, and the sermon is the same for both services. The Praise and worship service begins at 9:00 a.m. The music for this service consists of praise choruses and songs, as well as some hymns. This service is more informal. Pastors do not wear robes and most worship leadership comes from the staff and worship leaders. Some may call this a more "contemporary" service, but the desire of our church is to avoid "labeling" either one of the services. Rather, we offer two different approaches of worshiping our Lord.
Our Traditional Worship service begins at 11:00 a.m. This service is a spirit-filled time of worship with a more "traditional" feel. Pastors wear robes, the organ and choir lead our singing of hymns and anthems, and responsive and corporate prayers are offered. Some praise choruses are blended within the service as well.
In the gospel of John, we are told to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. Westminster is committed to seeking out ways that we can continue to honor our risen Lord in Worship.
