A Story In The Making

Approximately 2 ½ years ago, an anonymous individual came to me (Matt) and communicated that the Lord was leading him to fund a Westminster praise team album. At that time, I was excited to begin brainstorming what praise songs would be incorporated, the arrangements of those songs, and what people would be involved. However, whenever I went to actually pray about the project…it became obvious that the LORD had not released us to engage into such a project. It was more like hitting my head up against a brick wall!

Around the same time, I became involved in the traditional worship service here at WPC…and was exposed to how the 11:00 worship service attendees worshipped. Not only did I have the opportunity to lead the congregational response in the service, but I joined the WPC Chorale. Through this shift in responsibilities, my “worship scope” was suddenly broadened and a new vision for a music project was birthed.

Now here we are…almost 2 ½ years after that anonymous individual came to me…and I have no doubt that we have arrived at what the LORD desires this project to incorporate! This music project entitled – “Foundation” – will focus on the most important foundational aspects of the Church. We will incorporate music that points the listener toward the nature of God and His holiness, as well as provide the listener with ways to respond to Him in praise and worship. The Apostles Creed and The Lord’s Prayer will be creatively installed into this recording, thus capturing two important tools that help direct us in worship here at Westminster.

I am very excited about this project, and I invite you to be in prayer for the praise team members, chorale members, and bell choir members that are joining to record this album.
