Westminster Presbyterian Church Pastor Nominating Committee is pleased to present the Reverend Dr. Baron Eliason as candidate for Senior Pastor/Head of Staff. Baron is a native Texas, born and raised in Dallas. He attended Southern Methodist University where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration-Finance degree. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. Baron practiced law for 2 years before being called to the ministry. He attended Austin Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity and completed his Doctor of Ministry at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, in May of this year. He was ordained in the PC(U.S.A.) in 1996. He is currently serving in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Baron and Katie will celebrate their 16th anniversary on July 25th. Katie is a full-time mother and homemaker and has been involved in children’s ministries as well as serving on the board of The River, a church-sponsored mission for women. She is a native of Houston. They have 4 children: Andrew is 14-9th grade, Christopher is 12-7th grade, William is 10-5th grade, and Lily is 8-3rd grade. The children all love to play soccer and most other sports. Andrew plays the trumpet, Christopher the trombone, and William the recorder. Baron enjoys boat building, sailing, mountain-biking and general exercise as hobbies.

While visiting Lubbock, Katie kept saying, “I love the open sky.” Baron writes, “All of us are looking forward to coming home to Texas and starting a new life together in ministry with the people of Westminster and Lubbock.”
A congregational meeting will be held Sunday, July 6, 2008 after the 11:00 a.m. worship serve to act on the motion to call the Reverend Dr. Baron Eliason to Westminster and to approve the terms of call for the Senior Pastor.

Wednesday Morning Prayer

7:00am - Every Wednesday
in Hester Chapel

You are invited to join us for weekly prayer Wednesday mornings.  During this prayer time we are coming together corporately to pray for the specific ministries with-in our church body.  Each week we are focusing on one specific ministry to be covered; in faith that God will direct and guide all persons serving that ministry. In addition we are praying for any cares, concerns and praises that you want to share during this hour.  We invite you to come and pray for the guidance of Westminster, and ultimately that we are walking in God’s will together.
