Local Mission supported by WPC
Family Guidance and Outreach whose mission is the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Their goal is to provide support, life skills and education to families in need. In enhancing self-esteem, communication and family unity, Family Guidance & Outreach hopes to create a positive environment in which children can grow.
Family Promise of Lubbock's mission is to provide homeless families with children the tools necessary to achieve long term financial, parental and personal self-sufficiency through a comprehensive program of temporary housing, case management and supportive services. One week every quarter, WPC volunteers provide meals and overnight chaperones at the Hope House.
Young Life of Lubbock thinks the world of kids. They are a world class organization for adolescents because they believe that they deserve to know what life can hold for them. Young Life leaders are caring adults who enter the world of kids, focusing on what matters to them - fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance. In doing so, we earn the privilege of talking to them about something that we believe matters most of all - the truth about God and His love for them. We've been in the kid business since 1972 in Lubbock and we have no plans to slow down.
Texas Ramp Project builds wheelchair ramps for disabled or elderly people who can’t afford to buy one. In a few hours on a Saturday morning, we give these folks the freedom to leave their home again—the home where they want to remain but whose steps have imprisoned them.
Backyard Mission’s mission is to get people warm and dry by doing free home repairs, using volunteer labor and buying materials with donated money and to give Christians the opportunity to put their faith into action by serving their neighbors. BYM recruits local volunteer teams to adopt a Backyard Mission home.
