OUR GOAL AS A YOUTH MINISTRY IS TO LOOK TO THE FUTURE AND INVEST IN OUR TEENAGERS SO THEY WILL BECOME HEALTHY, LOVING, ADULTS WHO LOVE AND SERVE GOD WITH THEIR LIVES...to be disciples and make disciples. IF YOU ARE A HIGH SCHOOL OR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR STORY. IF YOU ARE A PARENT, WE WOULD LOVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTNER WITH YOUR FAMILY AND INVEST IN YOUR TEENAGER.

partnering with parents

A large part of our heart for youth ministry includes partnering with parents in the upbringing and discipleship of their teenagers.  Although it's a great supplement, youth ministry isn't a substitute for engaging your teenager and their faith journey throughout the regular course of life.  Through seminars, regular meetings, and an advising "parent committee", our hope is that we can draw the family closer around Jesus Christ and inspire them to be disciples together.

middle school (new 6th grade - new 9th grade)
glorieta hiking trip - Glorieta, NM
June 11-17
$300

Students enjoy a quick drive to the Sangre de Cristo mountains of New Mexico followed by two days of altitude acclimatization and team-building.  From there, we're out on the trail for four days, hiking beautiful mountainsides and sleeping under the stars.  **Hiking is strenuous, but doable.  Students will be advised to break-in hiking boots prior to trip and prepare for hiking through several "practice hike" opportunities.

Email Brad Yearwood (brad@wpclubbock.org) to register.  A link will be emailed to you to complete the registration process.

HIGH SCHOOL (NEW 9TH GRADE - Graduated 12th grade)
fun in the son camp - south padre island, Tx
JUly 9-15
$475

After two days of split travel (First leg of trip to Austin), students arrive at the southern tip of Texas at a beachside paradise.  Hosted by Youth Conference Ministries (www.ycmhome.org), FUN IN THE SON - PADRE ISLAND has been a staple of our youth ministry's summer plans for many years.  The week-long conference is highlighted by dynamic morning and evening keynote speakers, multiple-church integrated small groups, engaging worship led by a professional band, and rec sports on the beach each day.  Each day is wrapped up with our own "family time" debrief sessions where we discuss what's been talked about in small groups and by the speakers...where its okay to ask questions and open up about the "tough stuff" of faith.
